Well, I need to do the launch of my blog again because I spelled "Kitchen" incorrectly because my dad spelled it wrong! Also, since I figured that I will not be a kid forever, using my name may be a smart thing to incorporate into the name of my blog.
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Rachel Brown and I am 12 years old. Ever since I was little I have been in the kitchen with my father. Step by step I worked my way into his kitchen and now his cook books are moved aside as my cookbooks have taken their place. His stove is my stove. His knives are now my knives and his pans are now my pans as I take the torch he has passed onto me and I am running with it!
My mother is not the best cook in the world but she does do the shopping. My father is not home to cook dinner, so out of necessity, I started to do the meal planning, shopping lists and lastly, the cooking of most of our families meals.
Cooking is something I love to do. It is not work for me. It is just something I do with pleasure and pride. I hope that maybe what I do can inspire other kids or even adults to learn about cooking and to learn about food. Food is a way of telling someone you love them. It is a way to explore the world and it is also a form of theatre. You can create your own world with cooking and entertain and satisfy people at the same time. It is a lot of fun. So, this blog will a way to share the world of food, cooking and travel through the eyes of a 12 year old girl. I hope you follow and enjoy me on this journey! Please stay tuned and forward this to all your friends!
From,
Rachel E. Brown
